How much data do I need in United States?
US data is relatively expensive but widely used. Travel eSIMs on T-Mobile and AT&T networks are the norm; Google Maps, Uber/Lyft, Yelp and social media are daily data consumers.

Tips for data usage in United States
- If you're visiting multiple cities for over a week, an unlimited plan is often better value than capped plans.
- Check hotspot support — some US eSIMs block tethering.
- T-Mobile-based plans usually have better 5G coverage in cities; AT&T-based plans often cover rural areas better.
- National parks have very limited coverage; download offline maps and playlists ahead of time.
Major networks: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile. Unlimited data plans from 5–30 days, plus high-speed capped plans. Hotspot support varies by provider; 5G is widely available on T-Mobile.
